Missing in Action

Missing in Action is a collaboration project between Birgir Snæbjörn Birgisson, artist, and Mika Hannula, writer. The theme of the performative project is memory, how it is constructed and represented, narrated and manipulated, shaped and maintained. The starting point are well known missing person cases.  First part of the project Missing in Action was realized in June 2022, in Iðnó Culture House, in collaboration with the Reykjavík Arts Festival in Iceland. A performance evolving around the best know missing person and still open crime case in Icelandic history: the disappearance of, first Guðmundur Einarsson and then 11 months later of Geirfinnur Einarsson, in the year of 1974.
